24 Studies for Bellows Bagpipes
David Bellas
This book is intended for bagpipers with a certain knowledge of the extended technique and for a soprano bagpipe, that is, any between E flat and B flat, though the most common ones nowadays are D, C, and B flat.
The twenty-four studies are arranged in a chromatic order, first presenting the major mode and then the minor of each pitch, doing this in all keys starting from C and reaching B. The studies are not very stable from a tonal point of view, due to the need for settling the materials, both regarding the different technical resources and the deep knowledge of each tonality of the instrument.
