Cancións galegas do Festival de Pontevedra
The Cancións galegas do Festival de Pontevedra volume includes the first part of the works composed for the Galician Song Festival in Pontevedra held between 1960 and 1967, promoting concert songs in Galician and carried out by the critic Antonio Fernández-Cid. The most attractive feature is that some of the most outstanding Spanish composers of the 20th century (such as Joaquín Rodrigo, Julio Gómez, Óscar Esplá, Xavier Montsalvatge, and Frederic Mompou, among others) took part in it, as well as Portuguese and Latin American composers. All of them put music to the written poems by well-known authors of Galician literature, such as Rosalía de Castro, Eduardo Blanco Amor, Ramón Cabanillas, or Vicente Risco. This first volume includes:
• Ronsel Gallego, by Manuel Parada
• Cantar de lavandeira, by Lluís María Millet
• Tres Galaicas, by José Buenagu
