Hermance: Romantic Serenade for Band
Reveriano Soutullo
Dos Acordes publishes this edition of Hermance, one of the works of the great Galician master Reveriano Soutullo, which urgently needed an edition so that the public could have access to one of the most beautiful compositions emerged from the muse of Soutullo in his creative youth. This work is written for band ‘as reflected in the only preserved manuscript catalogue of the composer’, and the first dated reference to it dates from 6th June 1909. It was performed in the Avenue by the Municipal Band of Vigo. Soutullo's connection with this group from Vigo, which had the first opportunity to perform a significant number of his compositions for band before they were published, is one of the previously unknown facts about the composer's biography. It was revealed by the researcher María Rosa Arija Soutullo, the composer's granddaughter, president of the Fundación Soutullo, and author of the prologue to the edition.
Once again, Dos Acordes gets closer to the world of music bands by providing fresh and new repertoire of great historical value. The CD with the parts recorded in PDF allows as many copies as you want, respecting the environment and taking up as little space as possible. This is a real luxury for any group, which allows the members themselves to complete their musical library in an inexpensive way.
Co-published with the Galician Agency for Cultural Industries (AGADIC).
