Loureiro verde: 50 pieces for guitar, by Manuel Herminio Iglesias

Loureiro Verde is the name of this new work aimed at guitar lovers who want to play pieces from Galician music, some of which are new and inspired by popular music, including traditional pieces from song repertoires. Some of them are by renowned authors, while others were created specifically. Many live in collective memory as, somehow, people still hum them while doing their daily chores. Others are not very well known; such is the case of the ones the folk group Cantigas de Ourense composed and sung years ago. As in previous works, the melodies are expanded to the best of my knowledge. The ones I composed have a clearly Galician origin, as the aim is for this music to reach new spaces where it is not known yet.
