Maragarida a da sorrisa d’aurora
Maragarida a da sorrisa d’aurora is not only a short story, it is a children’s tale written and printed in the Galicia under Primo de Rivera. Margarida a da sorrisa d’aurora belongs to a very special period in our literary tradition: the time of the Xeración Nós. More precisely, the career of this intellectual can be considered part of the ‘avant-garde generation’. Like Correa, he decided to shape and influence literary-political news as part of ‘the new Galician generation’. Although such a document meant much more than a tale for little boys and girls: it hid the will of a defined intellectual group, the perception of a vanguardist who, despite his best wishes, could not get rid of his sexist thinking. Above all, it reflected the writer’s commitment to a literature that, like Galicia’s, lacked works specifically aimed at the little ones.
