Música para ballet. 30 Pieces of Piano Accompaniment for Classical Ballet Classes
Although it is aknowledged that improvisation is the best way to accompany dance, many pianists do not improvise or, when faced with a dance class for the first time, do not know what to play. Therefore, presenting a book of ballet scores is not contradictory, but rather a useful tool for different types of pianists.
This book is designed for both those who do not improvise and those who do. For the former, it offers a complete repertoire to accompany an entire classical dance class. For experienced pianists who use sheet music, it provides new compositions to enrich their repertoire. Finally, pianists who improvise can also use this material as a basis for developing their own ideas.
The book contains thirty pieces structured according to the logic of a ballet class, including exercises at the barre and in the centre. These compositions cover a wide variety of musical and rhythmic needs, addressing binary and ternary metres as required by each exercise. All of them have been tested in real classroom situations, proving their effectiveness and suitability.
