Pel e madeira: Basic repertoire for bagpipes and Galician percussion. Volume 2

This score book includes 30 popular pieces arranged for two bagpipes, drum, and bass drum. It includes two sound discs with the recording of all the songs performed by the authors. In each of the CDs, called GAITA and PERCUSIÓN, the listener will be able to listen to each of the instruments in the traditional quartet separately on the stereo. This way, by moving the balance control to the right or left channel, we can block the instrument we choose and replace it with our own live interpretation as part of a “virtual quartet”. Considering the coexistence of the two current writing systems, C and D, and taking into account that C was used in the first volume of the series, we chose to use a D scale for this second volume. Hence, in this folder, we included the paper booklets with the independent parts for each member of the quartet to make the interpretation easier, with the bagpipes on a D scale. Moreover, a CD-ROM with all the parts in PDF files in both writing systems is included. This two-volume collection constitutes an essential material for bagpipers, whether students, teachers or advanced interpreters, and also for anyone who loves the instrument and its cultural heritage.
