'Tres bocetos andaluces', for bass clarinet and piano

This work was commissioned by Italian bass clarinettist Rocco Parisi, who requested the piece with the intention of premiering it at the 2022 International Clarinet Congress held in the United States. Parisi specifically asked for a composition with a Spanish, flamenco-inspired character. The result of this request is Tres bocetos andaluces, a tribute to Spanish music —both classical and flamenco. The piece incorporates numerous flamenco guitar gestures translated to the piano and includes nods to the works of Falla, Albéniz and Turina.
